Finance Structured to Match Your Business, Brisbane Business Finance Broker

Most brokers read your tax return. I read your business.

Most brokers look at your tax return and check a debt service ratio. JB reads your P&L margin trends, your balance sheet structure and your cashflow cycle, and structures your application around what that tells him about where the business is going.

Business finance is not one-size-fits-all. The right structure depends on your cashflow cycle, growth trajectory, asset base, trading history and what you're actually trying to achieve, whether that's acquiring equipment, managing cashflow gaps, buying premises or funding growth.

JB Fremy brings a business operator's perspective to every commercial finance engagement. Having worked across finance, technology and operations, JB understands the business context behind the numbers, which leads to better structured finance solutions and stronger lender presentations.

Work with an accredited finance broker recognised by FBAA and MFAA.

JBF Solutions holds FBAA and MFAA accreditation and operates under Credit Representative No. 568424. Professional standards in place from first conversation to settlement.

Refinance & Restructure

Lender Assessment

What Lenders Look for in Business Finance Applications

Understanding how lenders assess commercial finance applications is a significant advantage. JB presents client situations in the way lenders want to see them, which improves the outcome and reduces the back-and-forth.

Trading History & Financial Performance

JB analyses your financials the way a credit analyst does, not just checking net profit against repayments, but reading margin trends, add-back positions and structural cashflow. Problems are identified before submission, not after.

Cashflow Serviceability

Can the business service the debt from its trading cashflow? Lenders assess this carefully. JB prepares cashflow analysis that demonstrates serviceability clearly.

Security Position

What security is available, property, business assets, personal guarantees? JB structures applications to maximise lender confidence in the security position.

Business Narrative

Numbers alone don't tell the full story. JB constructs a business narrative that gives lenders context, growth plans, market position, management experience and purpose of finance.

Common Questions

Business Finance FAQ

The terms are often used interchangeably, but asset finance is the broader category, covering vehicles, machinery, technology and other business assets. Equipment finance typically refers to a specific chattel mortgage or hire purchase structure for equipment acquisition. The right structure depends on the asset type, your accounting treatment preferences and whether you want to own the asset at the end of the term. JB will walk through the options clearly.
A business overdraft is a revolving credit facility linked to your business transaction account. You can draw up to the agreed limit, repay and redraw as needed, paying interest only on what you use. It's designed to manage short-term cashflow gaps rather than fund long-term investment. Limits typically require annual review and are usually supported by property security or business assets.
Start-up and early-stage businesses have a narrower lending market, but options do exist, particularly for asset finance and equipment lending where the asset provides security. Non-bank lenders and specialist funders often have more appetite for new businesses than major banks. JB will give you an honest assessment of what's available and what you'd need to demonstrate to access it.
Requirements vary by product and lender, but commonly include: two to three years of financial statements and tax returns, recent BAS statements, bank statements (typically six months), details of any existing debt and information about the proposed security. JB will provide a clear document checklist for your specific application, and help you present the information in the best light for lender assessment.
